Message from the Director, Prof. B. Ravi

Since its inception around 1970, the Staff Recreation Club (SRC) has been strengthening the community spirit and well-being of campus residents through various activities. The Club has organised brainstorming retreats, cultural programs, sports events, training sessions, and other initiatives over the last two years. These helped empower and energise the faculty, staff, and family members. The annual ‘Staff Day’ provides a great platform to showcase, recognise and celebrate their talents. The space, facilities and activities of the SRC are being expanded in collaboration with other units of the Institute. This will enable more members to participate and to benefit. I urge all campus residents to take up interesting and inspiring initiatives under the umbrella of SRC, which will foster the bonds and shared values of the NITK community.
Warm wishes,
Director

Dr. Shashikantha Koudur, Professor In Charge, SRC NITK Surathkal

The Staff Recreation Club (SRC) on our campus is a vibrant space of togetherness, creativity, and well-being for our entire staff community. Under our collective leadership and support, we have revived and introduced cultural and sports activities that bring joy, health, and connection to both teaching and non-teaching staff—permanent and temporary alike.
We were proud to celebrate the Staff Day for the first time, honouring the contributions of all members who help the institute thrive. Our excursions and ongoing evening classes at the SRC building have further strengthened the bonds among colleagues and their families beyond the boundaries of departments and roles. The SRC is committed to building an inclusive space—where every hand is welcomed, and every contribution is valued equally. We believe in fostering a campus spirit rooted in camaraderie and shared celebration.
Looking ahead, the SRC will continue to create meaningful opportunities for engagement, enrichment, and joy for all. Let us keep shaping this collective journey with enthusiasm and unity.

Warm regards, Shashikantha Koudur, Professor in charge, SRC
